“Six pack abs” is a term that is used to describe the well built abdominal muscles that can be found in both men and women. In most cultures, the achievement of having six pack abs is a sign that the person is physically fit, and that he or she was able to lose excess fat and has developed well built muscles – not just in the abdominal area.
While some people think that getting six pack abs is fairly easy, it can be said that a lot of effort, time, and patience, as well as dedication has to be put into the work that comes with trying to achieve a well-toned body. This muscle is composed of two parallel muscles that is separated by a connective tissue known as the “linea alba,” and is the reason why in most images of six pack abs, there is a dent found in between then “packs”.
Interestingly, while washboard abs may be the common term regarding the well developed rectus abdominis muscle, due to anatomic variations, there are instances where instead of the usual six packs, there are some people who have eight pack abs. In even rarer instances, there are certain people who have ten or more packs.
Perfect six pack abs
Perfection may be seen as something along the lines of constant debate, since there are some people who believe that as long as the abs have been developed, that is already is the achievement of perfect abdominal muscles. However, there are some people who believe that perfect six pack abs appear when the muscles are very well defined, so much so that people can actually count the six packs.
Achieving six pack abs
Losing weight is not the only option needed in order to achieve the illustrious six packs. Washboard abs can be achieved through strict dieting and daily exercise, and it does not happen overnight. Time and dedication are key factors in this goal as well as knowing which of the ab workouts are the ones that can bring in the six packs.
