Many people are becoming body conscious and are looking to get their body into better shape. The chiseled abs for both men and women are a sign that you have met your fitness goal. Although it is hard work to achieve six pack abs it is still important to properly work the abdominal muscles to help get a stronger core foundation. By using a Swiss ball for ab workouts, an individual would build up much better strength and toning to your core than just completing floor workouts.

When an abs workout is mentioned, most of us will automatically think about a crunch or sit up completed on the floor. BTW completing crunches on the floor will help strengthen your core however instead of completing one type of exercise it is important to work out the entire core region and to complete that effectively multiple ab exercises are required. Using a swiss ball also called a stability ball will help you complete many different exercises in varying positions. Also the swiss ball is reasonably priced for the amount of benefits it provides. Check out the latest prices below.

The most basic abs workout movement completed on the Swiss Ball is the ab crunch on swiss ball. This exercise works the upper ab region and is a common exercise completed in gym workouts. To complete the movement sit on the ball and walk your feet forward until you are comfortably balanced on the ball. It is important to maintain good balance on the Swiss ball and keep your feet about shoulder width apart. Place your hands at the side of your head (touching your ears) but do not use them to help pull up, then begin a slow curling motion pulling your chest up whilst keeping your abs tight. Focus on keeping the movement slow and controlled and your abs tight throughout the movement. After reaching the top slowly lower back down to the starting point.

Another good upper abs workout is ball roll outs. The beginning position for this exercise is kneeling in front of the stability ball so it may be a good idea to have a towel or pad under your knees. Have the ball a couple of feet in front of you and rest your forearms on the ball. Now slowly push your forearms across the ball until your chest hits the ball. Then slowly return to the starting position focusing on contracting your abs during the movement.

The ball leg lift is a great lower abs workout. Lay on your back directly on the floor with the swiss ball positioned between your lower legs. Pinch the Swiss ball with your lower legs then slowly raise the ball off the ground. Only lift the Swiss ball a few inches off of the ground then pause for a few seconds before lowering it back down. As with all the movements make sure to keep the pace slow and controlled and pause at the top of the lift for a few seconds.

Hip Rolls is a lower abs workout and oblique exercise. Lay on your back on the floor with your arms spread out to the side, your lower legs on swiss ball, and knees bent at a ninety degree angle. Press down on ball with your lower legs then slowly rotate your hips to one side as far as you can comfortably go. Once you go as far as is comfortable slowly return to the start position and complete the movement to the opposite side.

A movement that focuses on the oblique muscles is the side twist crunch. Lay on ball just as you did for the swiss ball crunch. Start the movement in the same way that you did for the crunch. As you get to the top of the movement rotate your shoulders slowly in one direction. At that top of the move turn your shoulders back and return to the start position. Do the move again but turn in the opposite direction this time.

Building strong core muscles are an important part of any fitness regimen. By incorporating the above Swiss ball ab workouts into your fitness training you will build strong core muscles. All ab movements should be completed in a slow and controlled manner for safety and to maximize results. Finally combine these Swiss Ball Ab Workouts with regular cardio exercise. The Cardio will remove the layers of fat covering your abdominal muscles and the Swiss Ball Ab Workouts will define the muscles to provide your with your new set of sexy abs.
